Ingredients
- ¾ cup water
- 3 Tbsp cane sugar
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce, use a good quality
- 2 Tbsp white vinegar
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- 1½ Tbsp cornstarch plus 1½ Tbsp water
Instructions
- In small sauce pan add the water, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and ketchup. Bring mixture to boil.
- Thicken the sauce with a cornstarch slurry. Check this link to learn more about how to use starch as a thickening agent.
- Use as a condiment or a dipping sauce for Breaded Chicken Strips or for Sweet and Sour Chicken.
