BBQ Sauce

Yield: about 1 ½ cups

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce OR 1½ tsp tamarind paste
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ Tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • ¼ tsp liquid smoke
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • black pepper, generous sprinkle

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pan, mix together all the ingredients then bring the mixture to boil. Turn down heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Let cool and store in air tight container in refrigerator for up to 10 days or freeze.
