Newstart is a lifestyle program designed for a healthier life. This recipe has been adapted from the Weimar Institute’s NewStart lifestyle cookbook.
Yield: 4 dozen appetizer nuggets
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cooked millet
- ¾ cup onion chopped fine,
- ½ cup peanut butter (use crunchy)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
Optional Ingredients, add one or all
- 1 tsp mushroom powder
- 1 tsp dehydrated tomato powder
- 1 tsp dehydrated celery powder
- 1 tsp dehydrated kale powder
Instructions
- Add onions to pan and sauté to soften and brown lightly.
- Mix and mash into the warm millet, peanut butter, onions and remaining seasonings.
- Using a cookie dough scooper, form into appetizer size nuggets or make into patties.
- Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet at 375°F for about 30 minutes. (see notes for AirFryer)
Note
- Set AirFryer to 400°F. After 10-12 minutes, give them a gentle shake to roll them around a bit, then give them another 10-15 minutes.
