This classic French Canadian Meat Pie is amazing and will not disappoint! Serve at holidays or for any hearty meal.
Yield: one 8-inch pie
Ingredients
- 1 recipe Savory Pie Crust
- 2 cups (about 230g) Better Burger
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp sage
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp allspice
- ¼ tsp ginger
- 1/8 tsp cloves
- generous sprinkle of fresh ground black pepper
- 1 cup mashed potatoes (for “Meat Pie” mixture to hold together)
Instructions
- To mixing bowl add the Better Burger and spices. Mix until well combined.
- Add mashed potatoes until mixture holds together when pressed between your fingers.
- Fill the bottom crust with the cooled Meat Pie mixture then add the top crust. As desired, finish the edges of the dough by trimming away any excess or bring the overhang of the bottom crust up and over the top crust. Pinch the two together to make a crimped edge.
- Make sure to cut a hole or make a few slits in the middle of the pie crust so steam can escape.
- Spray crust with spritz from water bottle.
- Bake in preheated 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
